Amsterdam Fountain

Amsterdam Fountain

This is one of the cities I would consider living in for a whole year or maybe more. Bicycles are everywhere. Ferry boats that travel across the harbour are free. The architecture is beautiful and so are the people. This Amsterdam fountain is beside an amazing restaurant/cafe where I got a lot of work done. I have never had an internet connection as fast as this cafe. Simply amazing.

Water surrounds everything in Amsterdam. The cities wealth is built upon the canals and docks. Visiting Amsterdam is like stepping back in time. Just watch your step or its a quick dunk into a canal, there are often no barriers.

I’m sure everyone is wondering why I haven’t been posting lately. Well I did another stupid and left my hard drive, the one with all my photos, in Paris. Fortunately it’s been found and i’m waiting for it to be shipped to me. This time I do have most everything backed up. Just the photos from Germany, Holland, and France are gone. Without those photos I haven’t had much available to post.

Also without my favorite 10-24mm lens I just haven’t been shooting much. Mostly touristic photos. Still fun, but nothing inspiring to edit. So i’m just taking a break and using my time in Freiburg to relax and visit with my cousin.

My next step is to spend a month in Granada, Spain. I’ll be there till Feb 2nd and then I have no idea where. I am kind of leaning towards Central America though.

If you have any suggestions on where I should spend February leave them in the comments. I prefer a spanish speaking country.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
