Broken Dam

Broken Dam

Third photo on my week of Iceland. I missed yesterday due to a day trip for to see the total eclipse of 2017. I actually saw the totality which is far more amazing that I can put in words or show in photos. This broken dam photo was taken in the west of Iceland. Nearby is an old shack that at one time looked to be a main house. A wooden pipe connects the dam to the house. I did not explore the house at all. It didn’t feel right to explore it. I just let it rest in peace.

There are so many amazing sights right along the main highways in Iceland. I say main highways but in reality they are closer in construction to two lane country roads. Most bridges and tunnels reduce to only one lane so a whole lot of caution must be used when driving. One of the most annoying thing I saw in Iceland is the tourists parking right on the lane in the road so they can stop to take photos Please, if you go to Iceland show some respect to everyone else by keeping good road etiquette.

For more photos and stories on Iceland check out my other blog at Earth to Keir. I go into more detailed stories and show many more photos of my travels at that blog

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
