Final Summer Sunset

Final Summer Sunset – HDR, ISO 100, 27mm, f/8.0, 1/2 second, Canon 5DM3, tripod

Final Summer Sunset

This is the last sunset of the summer that I will be posting. The winter has now hit Victoria with a frigid 1.5 deg C. I know, it’s horrible. The image was taken in september and you can see that there is already cool mist forming in the lowlands. This really was shot near the end of summer and fall was just starting to tease. Taken from the top of Mt. Tolmie, my favorite place to do sunsets, and also right in my backyard.

The HDR was processed using Photomatix Pro and final edits done using Lightroom. I realize I need to get out and shoot more. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day that I can get some new material. With all that’s going on in my life right now I have had to rely on a lot of older work to keep posting one image per day. That should change once I hit the road in a week from now

In other news

Packing up of my mom’s condo is almost complete. I still have a teakwood table and chair set to sell in the next 6 days, but I have my fingers crossed. I was very stressed in the last month worrying about making sure the condo gets emptied by the time I have to be out on the 26th. As the days have passed everything has fallen into place in the best way possible. I find the stress I feel was wasted effort. I can not ask for anything to be going any better than it is.

This feeling of forward movement is very strange to me. Usually about now something happens to throw my plans into disarray. Then again I am not on the road yet so its possible everything could fall apart in the next 5 days. I’m keeping my hopes up that things continue to go smooth and in approximately 6 days I will be riding the jetstream in a jumbo jet right into O’Hare International Airport.

Fingers and toes crossed.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
