Glenlivet Whiskey Tree

Glenlivet Whiskey Tree

Driving around today I got lost a few times in the highlands. Then I had to get through a snowstorm. But the result was arriving at the Glenlivet distillery in time to get one of the last tours. Unfortunately they have a policy of no photography while on the tour so I can’t share anything from it. However, it is ok to shoot in the lobby and tasting area so I took advantage of it.

This shot is a Christmas tree shaped sculpture in the reception area of the distillery. Many people were taking photos of it but I wanted to make sure that mine was very different than anyone else’s. I lay my camera down underneath the tree and set the self timer. I had to adjust the location of the camera a few times before I got the angle I wanted.

The new Aurora DHR Pro 2017 was used to create the HDR. I thought the original version was great, but the updates they have done are totally worth the upgrade.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
