Hampi Ferry Boat

This is a ferry boat that takes you across the river from the Temple side of Hampi to the Hippy side of Hampi. I’m staying on the hippy side in an awesome hostel called the Goan Corner. Tonight I will be sleeping under the starts with only a mosquito net between and a possible case of malaria. I’ll be posting a photo of my sleeping accommodations at some point in the future.

Last night I took the night bus from Anjuna to Hampi. I always imagined the night bus to be something like the one on Harry Potter. At first the amount of bumps, swerves, hard braking, and general rough ride kept my wide awake. Once I popped a Xanax things got a whole lot better. I was actually able to get to sleep and my aching leg no longer bothered me. Here’s to prescription drugs!

Hampi is small. And from what I have seen so far I am really going to enjoy the stay here. The plan is to just hang out and not move as the heat right now is really getting up there. Tonight as it cools off I’ll be going for a hike up to some rocks and hope to get some nice sunset shots. Tomorrow morning the plan is to hit the ruins early and see what kind of images I can her.

The stay here will likely be no more than 3 nights at most. It is super nice here, but also super small. Still not sure what the next stop will be. Either Kerala or perhaps start slowly heading north.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
