Happy New Year 2018!

Happy New Year 2018!

This is a totally unplanned shot. I was just trying to shoot the house lights when I saw the fireworks from up the street. So I aimed in the general direction, then started a 30 second exposure. Camera was held with a Joby tripod and balanced on the frosty ledge of the balcony i was standing on. People were walking around and I believe that made the image softer, but still is sharp enough. I ended up shooting this just after midnight. Happy New Year 2018! I was mostly shooting video last night so this is the only photo I made.

I’m looking forward to a creative year. And a little bit more warmth.

PS, I woke up with a throat lozenge stuck in my beard. It wasn’t mine. Shared the bed only with a dog and a cat.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
