Kadalekalu Ganesha Hampi

Kadalekalu Ganesha as the sun is slowly getting ready to set. The day was spent visiting many of the temple ruins in Hampi. Lots of fun, but also very exhausting and so freaking hot. I ended up drinking over 5 liters of water and i’m so glad I did. One of our group ended up with a case of heat stress.

Just outside of the main part of the ‘temple side’ of Hampi. This is a short walk and an even shorter Jeep drive to visit. The temple has a barrier around so its impossible to get close. Many of the other temples I have seen here have no barricades at all.

My time in Hampi is winding down. I have tickets to go to Bangalore on a sleeper bus tomorrow. I really don’t enjoy the sleeper bus but I still have a couple xanax left so I think I should be able to get through the ride in one piece. After Bangalore the plan is to head up to Rajasthan. The original plan of going south to Kerala will have to wait until the next time I visit India.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
