Karnataka Water Reservoir

Spent a day hanging out at some of the temple ruins here in Hampi. The complex of ruins takes up a 35 sq km area. I also learned that 500 years ago Hampi was the 5th largest city in the world. Then the river shifted its course and the whole area changed. The water in this reservoir is fairly low, the rainy season is going to start in about a month or so.

Yesterday I swam in a water reservoir created when the original river was dammed up. Apparently there are supposed to be crocodiles in the water, but I didn’t come across any.

I’ve been spending the day trying to figure out what I will be doing with my last month in India. The plan is to take a bus somewhere tomorrow, I just haven’t figured out where exactly yet.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
