Knife Maker

Entim is a Knife Maker in Bundi. Another of the shop owners/artists that i came across on the main street that ran in front of the guest house I was staying. And by the way, if you ever get to Bundi stay with the Shivam Tourist Guest House. This is the only place I stayed where it actually felt like I was a guest in a house.

Entim has been making knives for about 10 years. This knife is a pretty rough looking one. He said he was making it because the tourists like the raw look to the knife. When I was talking to him he was actualy working on carving the sheath for the knife.

Yet another reason why I liked Bundi so much is that it had the feel of an authentic working town, and not a touristy or resort feel at all. In the Bazaars the feeling was one of locals shopping at local places. While it was obvious some of the shops were set up for tourists, the majority just seemed to be regular people. Most were just happy to talk and none were trying to push me to purchase anything.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
