Lake Michigan Ice

Lake Michigan Ice – HDR, ISO 125, 46mm f/13.0, 1/125th second, Canon 5D, Handheld

Lake Michigan Ice

Another image from the Cold Fucking Morning album. I shot these images and bracketed them years before I ever tried attempting an HDR image. The version of me 5 years ago perhaps knew that I would get around to it one day. Thankfully I have all these images done so I have something to post while getting all my loose ends tied up in Victoria.

I am up late getting two posts ready as Thursday evening I will be flying into Chicago and therefore unable to make a post.

I processed this image using both Photomatix Pro and Aurora HDR Pro. While I liked both images I chose to post the version processed in Photomatix Pro. I am liking some things about Aurora though I still find my workflow a bit smoother with Photomatix Pro. It is fun to be able to use both programs side by side. They definitely add a different feel and character to the image being processed.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
