Last Mekong Sunset

Last Mekong Sunset: Tonight is my last night in Luang Prabang. though I have just named this image Last Mekong Sunset I realize the it’s probably not the last at all. I’m going to be in Laos for the next three weeks and I plan do do a slow-boat trip at some point so chances are great there will be many more sunsets over the Mekong River.

Today’s activities consisted of buying yet another new pair of sandals. The ones I bought 4 days ago exploded in a massive disaster of delamination in the period of one hour of walking around. I took them back to the vendor and he laughed at me. So today I went to the Phousi Market and wandered around there for a while. I wish I was in a better mood to do that as it was super fascinating. But in the end I ended up only buying new sandals and a topup for my SIM card. A few photos were shot, but nothing spectacular.

Tomorrow I leave Luang Prabang and take a bus to Veng Viang about 8 hours south of here. Looking forward to getting there, and really hoping that there is not a rash of shoe thefts going on. Actually I guess I should book a place to stay…

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
