Luang Prabang Monks

Luang Prabang Monks. One of the main reasons I came to Luang Prabang was because I heard that every morning the monks walk through the main area of town and collect their daily food donations. So this morning I got up at 5am so I could attend this daily ritual. It takes a lot to get me out of bed so early in the morning. Fortunately I have some really cool roommates in my current guest house and we all walked down together. And this was worth it though. It’s a very quiet and brief experience. Several different groups will walk around collecting rice, fruit, and sweets. This was definitely one of the highlights of my time in Laos so far.

It’s now 9am and i’m back in bed for a nap. I feel like the day has already been long and I am exhausted. I am very much not a morning person.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
