Mount Cook Glacier Plain

Rolling up to the hostel at the Mount Cook Glacier Plain I was hoping that I would get a room that had this view. Unfortunately it seems the Stray bus reservations are not as premium as others. So I was given a room in the back that overlooked the alley and a construction garbage dumpster. Well at least the mountains behind the dumpster were pretty to look at.

This hostel had a dinner special that I should have avoided. But the promise of a steak suckered me in and I went for it. I could actually have had anything on the menu for the same price, but the steak was the most expensive, and I wanted to get my money’s worth. After a couple weeks of spending outrageous amounts on New Zealand food I thought for once I was going to get a good deal. Joke was on me as it was one of the worst steaks I have ever had.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
