Mount Doom Journey

Today I followed in the footsteps of the Great Mr. Frodo, and his curiously faithful companion Sam. Sauron was not looking in my direction so I was able to make a successful escape after hiking to the foot of the mountain.

Most of the group did an 8 hour hike today, but I opted to do the shorter 3 hour hike to a waterfall instead. Mt. Doom hovered on the horrizon the whole way in. Really amazing mountain with stunning scenery.

Image was edited with Aurora HDR Pro, and Photoshop was used to remove the enourmous amount of dust that has collected on my sensor. I’m actually kind of annoyed how quickly this camera collects dust.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
