Mourea Carving

Mourea Carving

I really don’t know any history or story about this carving. It was located really close to a free WiFi location by the library in Mourea, New Zealand. Last night I went through some old photos for nostalgic reasons. This photo popped out at me so I decided to give it some edits and throw it up on the blog.

As this art is mounted publicly I felt ok about photographing and sharing it. Some of the art I saw is located within Maori lodges and I will not be sharing those images.

This was shot on my Sony a7RII. A camera I now have sitting in a box. Its in perfect condition, but after trying to sell it on eBay, and having a horrible experience, I am a bit shy about trying to sell it again.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
