Port Angeles from Clover Point

Port Angeles from Clover Point

This shot was take about an hour ago by moonlight. I pulled into Clover Point on the way home from a great party, I set the lens hood on the top of my car, then balanced the camera on top of the hood. There were 7 exposures in the series but I threw out the two low exposure ones. Photomatix Pro was used to combine the bracketed shots. The shot was taken on the drive home from yet another epic day hanging out with Roland. He is much better with words so I’m just going to post what he said about the day on Facebook.

Friday afternoon found me with a pocket full of new poetry, Arleen Pare‘s; Munro’s books still a great place to meet friends, Keir Briscoe. Then us going to Logan’s (where we got directions) to The Drake (which apparently isn’t actually only in Vancouver). Locating Marcella Obdrzalek and going for Chinese. Seeing fleetingly Allan Edgar and cat through the window. (I think his cat winked, perhaps a Minerva McGonagall moment.) Then to a rooftop and a party at Point street house, dance, piano, costumes, song, stories, reverie and house history lessons (goodbyes). What a great group of people there. Victoria, tour ships leaving, bright moon over the strait, waves and new faces. Truly the one day weekend has begun.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
