Roadside Creek – South Shore Highway, Icland

Roadside Creek

This is the first post of a week of photos from Iceland. Its almost impossible to take bad photos there. This shot of a roadside creek was taken a few steps away from the main highway along the south shore of Iceland. When I say highway its really closer to a country road. Only one lane each direction and many of the bridges narrow to one way traffic only. So it’s super important to be aware of driving, and try not to be distracted by the amazing scenery.

Iceland really gave me an opportunity to use my new 10 stop Neutral Density filter. This image has a 30 second exposure time. Compressing time into a single image creates a view of the world that we can only get through photography. It lets us look at our world with a different perspective.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
