Songkran Buddha Dance

This morning I actually dragged my butt out of bed at 8:20am so that I could met up with friends and go to a temple to watch them move the golden Buddha onto a cart and drag it out around the city. While the ceremony was impressive, I was just excited that I was able to wake up so early.

While the Buddha was being moved there was a group of about 14 girls doing a dance off to the side. There was a police officer blocking my view of the whole Buddha ceremony so instead I took photos of the girls.

Not much was done to this shot. I threw it into Macphun Tonality CK, chose a preset, then did some slight tweaks in Lightroom. Truthfully its 1am for me and I am so tired I almost went to bed without even posting an image for today. Its been a super fun filled day of ceremonies, water, walking, water, water fights, spraying water, being sprayed by water, and having water dumped on me. Did I mention that I have been soaking wet all day?

From what I understand tomorrow and the next day will also be the same. Lots of water, trying to avoid water while driving my scooter around, and then showering afterwards to get the canal water off. I heard some people get a rash from that stuff, but then some people swim in it too.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
