Sunset Reflection

Well this is the second post of the day, but then I missed yesterday so there I go. The cool thing about WordPress is that I can always backdate a post so it looks like I never missed a day. Sneaky I know, but hey.

This is a single shot done the other night just as the sun was going down. I was hoping to get more movement on the cars but then the orange reflection of the sunset on the pavement was all washed out. And blending multiple exposures didn’t give me the correct look either. In the end I am really liking the look of the image and I feel it captured the tone and quality of the light that I experienced as I took the image.

It seems lately I am posting less and less HDR images. I guess this is just a development of how I’m seeing the world, and how I want to present things. My black and white images are becoming more frequent as well. I often look back at the images I have posted to try and see how I am developing as a photographer and an artist. Though it’s still strange to think of myself as an artist…

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
