Sunset Rocks Hampi

This is the pile of rocks that I have been taking my sunset photos from here in Hampi. The back side has a fairly easy climb to the top. I can even carry my tripod up with no problems. Every night is a small party as people gather all round the boulders to watch the sun drop down.

Tonight the plan is either going to the Bat Caves, or climb 600 steps up to the Monkey Temple to watch the sunset. The Bat Cave does not offer a good sunset view however it des offer a huge bunch of bats flying out of the cave just after sunset. This would be very cool to see, but I doubt I would be able to get a shot of it. then again, how many sunset photos can I really take.

Also a bit of trivia. The rocks around the area of Hampi are some of the oldest rocks and stones in the world. The landscape is definately surreal here and that little bit of info really seems to fit.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
