Walking Bridge, Chattanooga TN

Yes this post is a repeat from yesterday. I have no idea what went wrong but the whole page is messed up. I cant seem to find any differences in WordPress, but the page obviously displays incorrectly. Hopefully this one will post properly. I guess this is one of the little issues that come up when learning how to work with WordPress. I will have an new image up tomorrow. Thanks for your support and patience.
This is actually called the Walnut Street Bridge, but when I was there everyone referred to it as the Walking Bridge. So this week happens to have a lot of things going on. I am in the middle of getting the condo I live in ready for sale. This means a lot of moving boxes, getting rooms ready for the carpet cleaners, moving furniture around, and selling as much as I can online. Due to these reasons I am going to be posting some of my favorite images that have already been processed so I can spend more time getting my live together, and a little less time on putting the Pixelbip posts together.

This photo was taken on a beautiful afternoon walk through the heart of Chattanooga. Since I started going there over 10 years ago the city has changed a lot. There are more public spaces, and it seems the arts scene is really vibrant. Also the restaurants are amazing. I got the feeling that the people there are out and enjoying everything that the city has to offer.

This image is an HDR using Photomatix Pro, After that there was some editing done in Lightroom, along with a crop to get things perfectly centered and symmetrical. I have intentionally broken the “rules” here. Like putting the horizon on the center of the image. However I think this is a good example of how breaking the rules can make for a stronger composition. When I have more time there are a few things I would like to continue processing on this image. For instance I would like the individual planks of wood to be slightly more defined. Also the clouds seem just a bit soft to me. I would like some more definition there. I would also like to reduce the vignetting on the upper corners. This seems to be an artifact of how Photomatix Pro handled the HDR conversion for this image.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
