Warm Sun on Cold Water

Processed using Aurora HDR Pro. The HDR conversion created a lot of noise in the sky. I used Macphun Noiseless CK to reduce the overall noise.

This image was shot in Chicago, IL near the North Avenue beach in Feb of 2010. The morning was super cold which made the sky very clear. I am actually standing on ice buildup that is on the lake which is how I was able to get so far out to where the pilings are. The ice was crumbly but still more than thick enough to hold me.

Travel News

I am now in Chattanooga, TN. Tonight I am going to a street fair of some kind. Hoping to be able to get some shots there.

I have spend the morning working on stuff from Baltimore and Chicago. At this point I still don’t have any more landscapes so I am relying on older shots. However I am getting lots of great shots of friends.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
