Whakahoro Blue Duck Station Moonlight

The Wh in Whakahoro is pronounced as an F. Say it again slowly… Strange pronunciations that I still have not gotten a good answer for.

This shot was taken while the hard core partiers (you know who you are) on the Stray bus were drinking by the fireplace. Jai and I were off geeking by taking photos of the sky. After the moon came up the stars were not as visible so I decided to shoot for the moon!

I always find it crazy how much light is actually available when shooting long exposures in the dark.

Photo processed with Aurora HDR Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop.

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
