Girl on One Tree Hill
This was shot a couple days before I started my month long tour around New Zealand on the Stray bus. I was actually trying to take this shot with no one in it but this woman just didn’t want to go anywhere. So I decided to take the shot I had instead of waiting for the one I wanted and ended up with the girl on One Tree Hill. Generally good life advice, and especially good photography advice.
The clouds the evening I shot this were scattered and doing incredible things with the light. The image was processed in Aurora HDR Pro. Edited with Lightroom and photoshop.
Tonight is my last night in New Zealand. Tomorrow I fly off to India. Im pretty sure I have everything ready to go. I did end up putting about 2.5 kilos of stuff into a box that I will not be taking with me. It feels so good to lighten my load even more. I look at the stuff I put in the box and I wonder why I even brought some of it along in the first place. Then again I also have difficulty going through the box because a lot of it I really wish I would be able to take along with me. It would be great to be able to afford to carry more camera gear, but I guess I just have to make due with what I have on this trip.
Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
