Jainam Shah – ISO 2500, 15mm, f/8.0, 1/1250th second, Sony A7Rii, Handheld
This shot was taken on the rainiest day we have had. Considering there have only been two days of rain thats not so bad. We were photographing an area where Seals hang out. They are actually closer to Sea Lions. If nothing else this was a good test of how water resistant the Sony A7Rii actually is. While it didn’t get completely submerged in water it was dripping wet and there was no degradation in how the camera operated.
In general I’m pretty happy with the durability of this camera. It has hit the ground twice from a height of about 1.5 meters and there is no visible damage. Everything still works. I’m not sure why I am abusing this camera so hard, but I guess that’s what happens when I take it everywhere with me.
Image was processed to black and white using Macphun Focus CK
Also Jai’s bright red jacket was distracting when the image was in colour.
Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
