Knotty Tree – ISO 250, 35mm, f/2.0, 1/125th sec, Sony A7Rii, Handheld
I was thinking of naming this Naughty Tree, but then I wondered what kind of search results it would show up in. So I used Knotty Tree instead. Yup its a pretty plain image. But I was pretty excited when I took it because I shot it with my Leica 35mm f/2.0 Sumicron lens. In fact that is the only way I know I shot this image at f/2.0. I wanted to see how things would look with the lens stopped wide open. Unfortunately the A7Rii is unable to get the aperture information from the old manual lenses I use. Unless I also manually make a note on every image I take I will not know what aperture I use. This is unfortunate, but I can live with it.
The image was pumped up using Macphun’s Intensity CK and Lightroom. The dynamic range I am getting from this camera is pretty amazing. Im looking forward to seeing what I am able to do after I get a copy of Macphun’s Aurora Pro which is released TODAY!

Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
