Sleepy Hollow – HDR Image, ISO 100, 50mm, f/11, 1/20 sec. Canon 5DM3, Handheld
Yes I know this isn’t really Sleepy Hollow, but when I look at the photo the mist in the mountains makes me think it could be. With Halloween right around the corner I have spooky thoughts on my mind.
This image is an HDR composed of 5 frames and combined in Photomatx Pro. Touched up with Photoshop, and final adjustments made in Lightroom. I had spent the earlier part of the day photographing the sunset from the water. After the sun went behind the clouds the whole sky lit up. Here is a tip. Never pack away your gear until the sun is truly gone and it is dark out. Even then the sensor in the camera is way better than human eyes at absorbing light and you can get some amazing colors. I am often surprised at what comes out of the camera after a longer exposure.
Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
