Torri – HDR image. Normally exposed image is ISO 800, 24mm, f/13, 1/640 sec. Canon 5D
Yet another temple from Japan. Images were combined using Photomatix Pro. Photoshop was then used to blend several versions of the image to get the final result. The combinations of the clouds on the sunny day kept the light changing, and very interesting on this Torii. I shot it from a few different angles but this one had the best overall composition. What I really like about it is the ominous clouds in the background, yet the shadows caused by the bright sunshine falling off the Torii. This is also a test of posting a photo in portrait mode. Its very possible that it will not fit well with the overall look of the Pixelbip design, or in the Mailchimp email.
Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
