Under the Waterfall
I took a day trip to Milford sound in New Zealand. In this shot I am on a boat. The captain had joked when we boarded the boat that he would be washing the boat under the waterfall. I stayed out front till the last second before the water started pouring down. A few people stayed out front and got totally soaked. One of the guys who got soaked had just spend three days hiking the Routeburn Track. I’m not joking when I say that he really needed the shower.
Its difficult to see but the cliff rises hundreds of feet above me. Half the water coming down the falls would turn to mist before it got to the ground. When the wind would gust the water would blow back up to the top.
Image was processed using Lightroom. Because I was on a boat it was impossible to do an exposure bracket. So no HDR for this image.
Growing up one of my biggest dreams was to explore the world. Honestly I never thought this would become reality. But at the end of 2014 I quit my job as a project manager to do just that. I sold most everything I own, packed up the remaining boxes in storage, and set out to see the world. My goals while traveling are to meet people everywhere I go, work on becoming a better photographer, and attempt to stay where the weather is not freezing. Along the way I am posting photos at Pixelbip.com and writing about my experiences at EarthToKeir.com
